Preventative Health Sri Lanka
Preventing mosquito-borne diseases in Sri Lanka through education and protection
About Us
Our mission is to combine awareness with action, ensuring that communities not only understand how mosquito-borne diseases spread, but also have the tools necessary to prevent them. By integrating health education with protective resources, we aim to create lasting improvements in community health and resilience.
We are also committed to continuing the legacy of Dr. K. D. P. Jayatilaka, author of Mosquito Borne Diseases in Sri Lanka: Prevention and Control. His work serves as a foundational guide to understanding and combating diseases such as dengue, and it remains central to our educational efforts. By printing and distributing this comprehensive resource, we hope to extend its reach to communities where access to reliable health information is limited, ensuring that his contributions continue to inform and protect future generations.
Preventative Health Sri Lanka is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the burden of mosquito-borne diseases through education and prevention. We believe that sustainable public health begins with knowledge, which is why our work centers on distributing accessible, evidence-based educational materials that empower individuals and communities to protect themselves. Alongside education, we aim to provide insecticide-treated mosquito nets to help reduce exposure to disease-carrying mosquitoes and reinforce practical, everyday prevention strategies.
